  • This morning, 10-20-2013, this guy shows up in the field. So I grab my camera and got a couple of shots from around 300 yards away. I watched him as he went into some tall grass and made note of where he entered.Once he was out of site, I started stalking him and made my way to a closer location while watching for his exit. I got within 100 yards of the spot and sat and waited. As it was getting hotter, I thought it would make its way into the woods and I'd get a couple of shots. After about 30 mins I decided to go look for him. I got to that patch... and no coyote. There are several large patches of tall grass, so I started to explore the area and found a couple of entrances into the grass.
  • Then the cool part. As I exited the tall grass, my coyote buddy was coming out of another patch just feet away, maybe 40 feet. We were both a bit startled. He took off and I raised the camera and just pushed the button. Unfortunately the variable lens was set at wide angle, but at least I got a couple of shots.
  • There are trails all through the grass and flattened areas where something has been laying.
  • The grass here was around 8 feet tall and I thought... Do I really want to go into the tall grass looking for this thing. Yup.
  • Oh and I found an area that they seem to like digging in.
